But in Islam Hifz ul Quran not only means to learn its verses orally but also to memorize what it says and understand what it means, what it wants from a Muslim, what is Allah’s teaching for a Muslim, and leads his or her life according to the teaching of Islam.

Our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that there are many virtues and benefits of Hifz ul Quran; he narrated that: “The best among you is he who learns Quran”. The one who learns Quran along with its teachings would be rewarded with a crown of brilliance in Jannah and would be asked to recite the Holy Quran and keep growing for every verse of Quran up to the level of heaven until he stops. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that whoever learns Quran and leads his life accordingly with its teachings would be entered to the highest level of Jannah and ten of his relatives, those who are destined to enter hell would be relieved on his behalf (Tirmidhi).
